Accruals
Let people earn leave on a schedule instead of getting the whole year's allowance up front.

- How to enable
- Pick an accrual frequency in a leave policy.
With accruals, people build up leave over the year instead of receiving it all on day one. You add an accrual schedule to a leave policy, and a nightly job credits each period's share to everyone the policy covers.
How it works
- Frequency. Weekly (each Monday), every two weeks, monthly (the 1st), or annually (the first day of the location's leave year). Leave is credited in advance, at the start of each period.
- With an annual quota, each period gets the quota divided by the number of periods in a year (12 for monthly, 26 for every two weeks, 52 for weekly). The schedule adds up to exactly the quota, and the year's entitlement starts at zero instead of the full amount.
- Without a quota, you set a fixed amount per period and the balance keeps growing by that amount.
- Balance cap. Optional. Accrual stops once the balance reaches the cap, and anything above it is lost, not saved for later.
- Joiners. Someone who starts partway through a period gets a pro-rated share for that period if the policy pro-rates on join.
- Overrides. A personal quota on an employee's record scales their accrual. For example, 15 days on a 12-day policy accrues 25% more per period.
Good to know
- A policy has one accrual schedule at most.
- Periods already credited are never recalculated. A change to the schedule applies from the next period.
- If you move to Free, existing schedules keep crediting leave, but you can't add accrual to a policy or change it.
