Introduction
What openbranchhq is, how it works, and where to start.
openbranchhq is leave management for growing teams. People request time off, the right person approves it, and every balance is kept as a ledger, so you can always see where a number came from.
How it works
- Requests. An employee picks a leave type and dates. openbranchhq counts only working days (weekends and public holidays are free) and checks blackout periods before the request goes in.
- Approvals. Each request goes to the employee's manager by default, or through an approval chain when the leave policy uses one. A leave type can also be set to approve automatically.
- Balances. Allowances, accruals, carryover, adjustments and approved leave are all ledger entries. A balance is the sum of its entries, never a number someone typed over.
- Structure. Locations set the timezone, leave year and public holidays for the people in them; departments group your team; reporting lines decide who approves whom.
